Michael Sheard is known to millions of British viewers who grew up in the Seventies and Eighties as the stern headmaster Maurice Bronson in the long-running BBC school drama Grange Hill. First seen in the BBC's 1965 Theatre 625 production of George Orwell's 1984, Sheard has gone on to become one of British television's most prolific performers with appearances in Doctor Who (six times), Adam Adamant Lives!, The Adventures Of Don Quick, The Persuaders!, Jason King, The Tomorrow People, The Sweeney, Lillie, Blakes 7, Buccaneer, the BBC's 1984 production of The Invisible Man, Knights Of God, 'Allo, 'Allo and Happy Families. He made his feature debut in The McKenzie Break (1970) and has also been seen in England Made Me (1973), Force 10 From Navarone (1978), The Riddle Of The Sands (1979), Escape To Athena (1979), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), Green Ice (1981), High Road To China (1983) and Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade (1989).
