Susan Jameson made her debut as the failed actress Kate in the BBC's acclaimed 1969 comedy-drama Take Three Girls, a role that she later reprised in the 1982 reunion serial Take Three Women. However, she is probably best-known for her roles in two BBC period dramas: as Jessie Seaton in When The Boat Comes In and Christine Forster in To Serve Them All My Days, although she is also remembered by many as Myra Dickinson in Coronation Street. She has guested in Boon, Woof! and The Secret World Of Polly Flint, while on the big screen she has been seen in I, Monster (1971) and International Velvet (1978). More recently, she has been seen in Circles Of Deceit, Band Of Gold, The Girl and New Tricks, which also features James Bolam, Susan's real life husband. Prior to Space:1999, she guest-starred as Anne Stone in UFO 's The Sound of Silence episode.
