The International Lunar Commission is a sub agency of the World Space Commission.

Founded as part of the WSC on August 22 1981, the ILC is responsible for all lunar related activities, including the operations conducted at Moonbase Alpha. The financial aspects of lunar operations were handled by the International Lunar Finance Commission.

Gerald Simmonds was a senior commissioner of the ILC when he visited Moonbase Alpha shortly before the moon's departure from the solar system in September 1999.[1]

Notes[]

  1. The departure of the moon would have left the commission without it's stated purpose. In addition, the subsequent enviromental damage would have led to refocasing of resources.
